What is a DOT urine specimen collection?

What is an eCCF and how is it different from a paper CCF?

An eCCF (electronic Chain of Custody Form) is a digital version of the standard paper CCF. It reduces paperwork errors, speeds up processing, and integrates directly with your MRO. We support both eCCF and paper CCF depending on your program needs.

What is an observed collection?

An observed collection requires a same-gender observer to directly watch the donor provide the specimen. It is required in specific situations under 49 CFR Part 40, including return-to-duty tests, follow-up tests, and when a collector has reason to believe a donor is attempting to substitute or adulterate a specimen.

Do you offer mobile collections?

Yes. We offer mobile collections throughout the DFW metroplex including Frisco, McKinney, Plano, Allen, Mesquite, and surrounding cities. We come to your job site, office, or facility. Travel fees may apply for locations beyond 20 miles from our Frisco base.

How long does a collection take?

A standard DOT urine collection typically takes 15–30 minutes from check-in to specimen sealing. Observed collections may take slightly longer. We work efficiently to minimize disruption to your operations.

What does your collector training cover?

Accepted Answer

Our training covers all requirements of 49 CFR Part 40 including collection procedures, chain-of-custody form completion (paper CCF and eCCF), shy bladder protocols, observed collection procedures, error correction, and hands-on mock collections with instructor feedback.

How long is the training?

Individual certification training is a full-day session (approximately 8 hours). Refresher and recertification training is a half-day session. Corporate on-site training duration depends on group size and format.
